At L’Albiousse it is a question of personal conviction that pushes us to go a little further each day in our quality process to offer our guests a unique experience, while at the same time, reducing our environmental impact.

A historic building such as L’Albiousse is inherently sustainable. However adapting it to new use with the comfort and safety needs of the modern traveler is a complex exercise. We continue to work hard to find the best possible compromise to each challenge.

Most of the things we throw away can be recycled and this has always been a priority for us. We collect and sort all paper, cardboard, plastic, metal and glass as well as ink cartridges, coffee capsules, batteries and light bulbs in order to be correctly recycled.

During the summer season, glass bottles are collected by horse-drawn cart in Uzès!

The majority of our lighting is equipped with LED filament bulbs combining the best energy efficiency and visual comfort. The hallway, stairs and common areas are equipped with time controls. A high efficiency condensing boiler provides the hot water and central heating. The rooms are all equipped with individual low pressure air conditioning units.

Most of our bathrooms are equipped with walk in showers. Only our Studio room has a bath. All taps and shower heads are equipped with water flow controls. Bath towels and sheets are not changed on a daily basis unless specifically requested by the guest.

Rain water is collected for the garden and an automatic drip irrigation system ensures the most efficient use of the water.

For the kitchen we use local produced products as much as possible. L’Occitanie is a major food and wine growing region and the first region in France for organic farming. We aim to privilege organic food as much as possible.

For breakfast, jams and fruit compote are made in house with fresh seasonal fruit. Fresh fruit jus is pressed as needed and eggs are prepared to order eliminating potential waste and ensuring the best nutritional and taste quality for our guests.

We favor the purchase of high quality and high efficiency equipment, made in France or Europe. When we have to change our equipment, furnishings, linen etc… we work with local charities and notably the Red Cross to ensure they get a second life.

Over the past 12 years we have been working passionately to deliver the highest standards of service, offering a safe and secure environment for you to enjoy your stay at L’Albiousse in complete peace of mind.

Our limited capacity allows us to offer personalised service, maintain and continually enhance the level of confort and amenities on offer, and most importantly ensure constant standards of hygiene and cleanliness (5/5 on Tripadvisor and 9,9 on booking.com for cleanliness).

We would like to assure you that our cleaning protocols are constantly under review and adapted to fully comply with industry guidelines and health authority recommendations as the situation evolves.

These new protocols have a huge impact on the time needed to clean our guest rooms. We very much appreciate your support in respecting our 11am check-out time, and we apologise if we are unable to offer you early check-in on arrival or late check-out on departure.

A complete deep clean is operated after each guest departure, and rooms are fully aired. Once cleaned, windows are closed, air-conditioning is switched back on and a disinfectant spray is used for additional sanitizing. No one enters the room after this, prior to guest arrival.

In order to avoid all risk of cross contamination, we will not service your room during your stay. We will however provide you with anything you may need during your stay, water, clean towels etc… On request and for long stays we will arrange a convenient day and time to service your room.

All public areas, as well as the back-of-house, are thoroughly cleaned several times a day, paying special attention to high-touch areas such as door handles, handrails and light switches.

Hand sanitizing gel is available in the front hall, at reception and in the dining room.

To ensure social distancing at all times, we have reorganised our dining room, so that breakfast is served on individual tables, as was already the case in the courtyard.

Please do not hesitate to contact us with any concerns you may have, we will be happy to address them.

We are fully committed to offering the highest possible safety standards while retaining all the warmth and friendliness that makes L’Albiousse so special.
